In summer 2018, we sat down for the first time and began spinning a web of colorful dreams, bold visions of the future, and innovative solutions for a sustainable way of life. Four years and countless plenaries and social processes later, we have finally found an enchanting place where our visions can become reality. Kirnhalden, here we come!

With 11 adults and five little people we founded the cultural and educational association “Die Kleinstadt” in summer 2021 and the cooperative “Wohn- und Kulturprojekt Kirnhalden e.G.” in March 2022. In September 2022, the first 11 people will move onto the site. Our project is expected to grow to 50 personalities from different generations, origins or backgrounds in the coming years.

At the moment, unfortunately, we cannot accept new members. For the current project phase, a familiar group dynamic is enormously important. As soon as new living space and capacities for getting to know each other are available, you will be informed via our newsletter. One thing is for sure: Kirnhalden will grow. It just needs patience! If you want to get to know us and the place even before that, then come to one of our events, to construction-weeks or as a volunteer. We are looking forward to meet you!
